Report

WOW... what a success this evening was.

Mother Nature gave us a beautiful clear sky with an early gentle zephyr dropping off to a calm evening, and a SPECTACULAR sunset.

We had to start cooking bang on the 4.30 pm start as the sunset was 5.20 pm, so we didn't want to eat in the dark - although the almost full moon helped a little till the cloud cover eventually blotted it out.

However, in the dark we still found the way to our mouth later for some beverages, particularly the free sponsored champagne for the bigger girls and boys.

A quick head count ended with about 60 big kids and 20 little kids.

The highlight for the little kids was the easter egg hunt which was rapid, furtive, eager, etc, etc and successful.

Some of the big kids got their chocolate fix with the GREAT EASTER BASKET RAFFLE - that was unpopularly won by someone who was'nt me ;-).

It is planned that the next Sunset Sips will be in about 3 months time (July 2017?) in the Beachcomber Parade park. There was even a suggestion we might have warming fires there. I can't see how this will work... but there is a lot of ingenuity bubbling away on The Island.
